Crossed by Ally Condie (Rae)

*Rae*
This book was predictable and it got really boring during some parts. I didn't like it because because it was so slow and i felt like there were a lot of unimportant scenes throughout the book. Also some of the more dramatic parts of the book happened early in the book and the rest was just dull until the very end. I did enjoy being able to see Ky"s point of view, and the end of the book. Also i liked the new characters introduced and some of the poetry in the book. I give this book 2.5 to 3 stars. It wasn't completely bad but i thought it would be better because of Matched. I hope the third book will be better than this one.

The Giver (Mae)

The book The Giver was very enjoyable because it showed us what it be like in a almost completely different world without emotion . In the very beginning i didn't completely understand it. I haven't read the sequel but i hope to read it soon. I would like to find out how it ends. i wish it was a bit longer, but over all it was a good book and deserved four stars!

Yeah i'm a new member!

I am so excited to be apart of WOW :)

The Giver (Kat)

~ Kat ~
The Giver was one of the books I had to read for school, so I was skeptical at first. But I ended up really loving this book. The message is beautiful, even if the world it is set in is horrible. The story is paced very well, and always keeps you guessing. The only thing I didn't like was the ending because of how much of a cliff hanger it was.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS!

The Giver by Lois Lowry (Rae)

*Rae*
This is one of my favorite books! I really enjoyed reading this book because i loved the story and the message about how important human emotions and being different is. I liked the characters and the plot was great. I also enjoyed the memories Jonas got from The Giver. This book was very interesting and emotional and i would recommend you read it. It gets 4 stars only because i didn't care for the ending that much.

Unwind (Kat)

~ Kat ~
I really enjoyed Unwind. The concept itself is very heart wrenching and makes you think about things many people aren't comfortable with. The characters themselves are decent, with my favorite being Connor in the first book and Lev in the second, but I always felt like he could of done more with them. Some of the themes in the book are very hard to connect to because of how different that world is than ours, but I loved that because it helped me escape from the real world and made me glad for the way our world is now.

Unwind also made me thankful for my parents :3

This book also does a wonderful job of making the reader feel. Whether it be fear, anger, or joy, the situations Shusterman comes up with are gasp-out-loud-able. This book is absolutely world spinning.

FIVE STARS!

Unwind by Neal Shusterman (Rae)

*Rae*
I liked the concept of the book although the at first it seems a bit far fetched. I would have enjoyed the book more if Shusterman could have wrote the story better . The writing was kind of bland and the beginning was boring. The characters were okay but you couldn't really relate to them except maybe Connor. I did like the different point of views and some of the events leading up to the climax of the book. Over all i give it 3 stars.

Beautiful Darkness (Kat)

~ Kat ~
Beautiful Darkness......my dreams were destroyed with you. After reading Beautiful Creatures, I was giddy and left wanting for the next part. Upon finding the next part and reading it, I was thoroughly disappointed. Beautiful Darkness lacks everything that appealed to me in Beautiful Creatures.

The story is greatly a struggle between light and dark, which is ok except for that is what the first book is about too. Beautiful Darkness felt like it was a retelling of Beautiful Creatures with a meaner, more bipolar, leading lady. It was the same tale with a different tune. Not only was it a repeat, but Beautiful Darkness was super, SUPER, slow. I ended up skimming more pages than reading them. The story didn't get interesting until the last 50 pages or so, at which I was only still reading because I had faith that it HAD to get better. The ending had spirit, breathtaking romance, and interesting plot twists that I had been waiting for in the whole book.

So, even though the sequel was no where near as spellbinding as the original, I still give it a three stars just for the ending alone. The rest is a two.

TWO AND A HALF STARS!

Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (Rae)

*Rae*
I was very disappointed in this book especially since i really liked Beautiful Creatures. I liked the story itself but the writing was bad. It had so much description that didn't add to the story and slowed it down. It took forever to get to the good parts and it was very repetitive. The best parts were with Lena and Ethan but even those parts got boring. I wouldn't recommend this book unless you liked the first and want to read the whole series. I give it 2 stars.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth (Rae)

*Rae*
I didn't think Insurgent was going to be able to live up to Divergent's reputation ,but it did! This book was amazing and it earned 5 stars. It has realistic characters that each contribute to the story, and Tris was even bolder in this book. The book is very suspenseful and its full of surprises and different conspiracies. The ending is shocking it left me wanting more. Read this book!

Insurgent (Kat)

~ Kat ~

Insurgent is a very good sequel, and holds up well to the expectations from the first book, Divergent. Insurgetn adds a lot more plot twists and ' OH MY' moments. It also continues to add to that character development that I loved in Divergent, and keeps all of the characters relationships realistic. Add in the romantic tension coming from the two main characters, and I would say that Insurgent is a great book.

If I had to say anything negative about the book, it would be that it is sometimes so fast paced that it leaves you wondering what is going on. This is in no way a big issue and I believe it might just be my slightly lazy way of reading, but it did happen to me.

FIVE STARS!

Divergent (Kat)

~Kat~
I truly loved reading Divergent! It is one of those books that every time you read it feels like the first time. The story is perfectly paced and never gets boring, which is an authors greatest failure in my opinion. Throughout the story, every single character, minor or main, goes through a perfect amount of character development while staying realistic to actual people. The action also seemed real, not like a corny movie.
Overall, I would recommend people of all ages read Divergent!

Divergent by Veronica Roth (Rae)

Today me and Kat will be talking about one of our favorite books, Divergent. First off i want to say this book totally deserved 5 stars! It was very action packed and it was a fast paced story. I can't stand when books take forever to get to the point. I loved watching the protagonist ,Tris, grow more brave and daring throughout the book. Plus her romance with one of the characters was an added bonus to the story :D. I would recommend this book to anyone because it's really an amazing book! :)
