Beautiful Darkness (Kat)

~ Kat ~
Beautiful Darkness......my dreams were destroyed with you. After reading Beautiful Creatures, I was giddy and left wanting for the next part. Upon finding the next part and reading it, I was thoroughly disappointed. Beautiful Darkness lacks everything that appealed to me in Beautiful Creatures.

The story is greatly a struggle between light and dark, which is ok except for that is what the first book is about too. Beautiful Darkness felt like it was a retelling of Beautiful Creatures with a meaner, more bipolar, leading lady. It was the same tale with a different tune. Not only was it a repeat, but Beautiful Darkness was super, SUPER, slow. I ended up skimming more pages than reading them. The story didn't get interesting until the last 50 pages or so, at which I was only still reading because I had faith that it HAD to get better. The ending had spirit, breathtaking romance, and interesting plot twists that I had been waiting for in the whole book.

So, even though the sequel was no where near as spellbinding as the original, I still give it a three stars just for the ending alone. The rest is a two.

TWO AND A HALF STARS!
